Mad for January Jones's Makeup

Is it just me, or was Mad Men‘s January Jones picture-perfect at the Golden Globes? Seriously, she looked like a Technicolor movie star come to life! Which is exactly what makeup artist Rachel Goodwin was going for: “My inspiration for January’s Golden Globes makeup was really just a very quintessential 1940s glamour girl,” says Goodwin. “When I first saw the color of her dress, it had this beautiful Old Hollywood feel to it, and I wanted the makeup to have the same feeling.”

Keeping the skin soft and matte, Goodwin added a hint of color to Jones’s brow bone and cheekbones with Chanel’s 4 Facettes Bronzing Powder (launching in April).

1. Start off blow-drying hair with TRESemmé Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray for shine and protection
2. Then, curl pieces of hair using a 1? curling iron and alternating with a 1/2? curling iron, creating an “S” wave pattern throughout hair
3. Once texture is created, work in TRESemmé Anti-Frizz Secret Smoothing Crème through entire look for shine and definition
4. Lastly, part hair off to the side, and pull into a low bun just behind the ear, leaving a few soft waves to frame the face.

EyeBrows Tips

Posted by admin On January - 12 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

You heard it here first: the dark, bold brow is back. Time to turn your brows from simple to striking; Boom Boom Beauty Bar, Manhattan’s premiere brow arching salon shares some tips on how to ensure your eyebrows look as fab as Kim Kardashian’s.

1) A perfectly done brow is an instant eyelift—no Botox necessary.

2) There is no such thing as natural beauty. Brows need as much attention as any other part of your beauty regimen.

3) Hollywood legends are legendary for a reason, think Liz Taylor, Brooke Shield’s and J’Lo’s brows… Find a brow that works for you and copy it.

4) Everyone has a tendency to get carried away when tweezing. Say no to thin brows. Clean up the stragglers under the brow but leave the rest.

5) Invest in a magnifying mirror. Your natural arch is the main focal point, so be sure to accentuate it.
