INVISTA’S CORDURA brand team is pleased to announce CORDURA fabric is featured in the new adidas Originals Superstar 80’s sneaker and matching drawstring bag. The revitalized shoe and complementary satchel are part of a project that celebrates the three-Stripes brand’s 60-year anniversary.

“First and foremost, the redesigned shoe and matching bag offer the recognized durability of CORDURA fabric,” said Susannah Rayfield, regional EMEA CORDURA brand manager. “These newly designed products by adidas Originals are classified under the CORDURA brand’s On The Go segment featuring products that are stylish, functional and ready for any adventure – and of course they will withstand rigorous use.”

Constructed with 1000×1000 classic CORDURA brand fabric down the tongue, the new shoe design is durable and has minimal scope for scuffs and abrasions, yet still remains lightweight. Gap Launches 1969 Premium Denim

By tehreem |

The latest Gap product to get an upgrade from Patrick Robinson, executive vice president of design, is denim, with a new premium collection, “1969,” which will debut for Fall 2009.

Gap gave a sneak peek of the new additions to their denim roster at a press preview in New York, with a line-up of diverse styles and washes for both men and women, from skinny to straight and the new “boyfriend” jean for women, to re-designed boot cuts for both, from light to dark rinses and all shades in between.

“Gap’s about a lot of options,” said Robinson. “Every fit has a person behind it, from curvy to long and lean. You find out who you are and get the jean to fit it.”

Robinson spent a year and a half with the Gap denim design team to redo everything from the fit and the wash to come up with a collection of denim under $60 that rivals premium brands that retail for $150 to $500.

“I’m using our size as my advantage to get the price down,” said Robinson, who said that Gap developed proprietary fabrics and sewing techniques with their extensive worldwide network of mills and factories so that their product would be unique, and also cost less to produce.

Monza Brings Modern Technology to Vintage Sunglass Shape

By tehreem | April 12, 2009

Petrol Eyewear introduced the Monza, an Italian-designed polarized driving sunglass that combines a lightweight and comfortable frame with Petrol’s best-in-class polarized VisoChromatic lenses. Now available in two frame finishes – gloss black with a grey marble pattern interior, and gloss brown with a woodgrain pattern interior – the Monza features an 8-base bronze polarized polycarbonate lens with a full array of coatings that help protect both the wearer’s vision and the lens itself.

Petrol VisoChromatic technology automatically adjusts lens darkness to surrounding light conditions, from 29% to 9% visible light transmission in the Monza. Unlike ordinary light-transitioning lenses that react only to ultraviolet light (UV), Petrol VisoChromatics react to both UV and visible light, allowing them to partially darken behind UV-blocking car windshields. This results in glare-cutting comfort while driving, and an even darker lens for full-sun activity outside the car.
