Fashion photography from the pages of magazines Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar will go on display in New York this week in an exhibition which captures how models have helped shape the modern ideals of beauty.
Famous names from the industry, including Marc Jacobs, the designer, Kate Moss, the model, and Vogue editor Anna Wintour, will launch the exhibition at the annual Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the lavish Spring gala.
The show focuses on the years 1947 to 1997 and celebrates the models who epitomised each decade, such as Dovima, Twiggy and Cindy Crawford, and includes a selection of garments made famous by the catwalk stars who wore them.
