The Manta Ray Collection from Giorgio Armani Beauty is out for fall. Though not overly sparkling or hyped up, it’s a solid collection that includes some beautiful colors. This makeup collection features five color combinations of their Eye Duo ($32) in various textures. The colors are simple and sophisticated.

• 1 – Charcoal/Greige (for smoky eyes)
• 2 – Deep Ocean Blue/Intense Ocean Green
• 3 – Pale Lilac Grey/Luminous Fuchsia (my favorite)
• 4 – Light Blue Stone/Sandy Beige

Jessica Stam gets steamy, or rather, foggy, in Fendi’s new campaign. She’s already appeared in Nina Ricci’s fragrance and Dior Beauty, but this one has a special stamp of approval. The images were shot by Karl Lagerfeld himself.

Marking the songstress’s first foray into the world of designer advertising, she strikes a pose alongside the Coco Cocoon bag collection, which will launch in October ’09.

The bags are reversable, and can be turned inside out, so are actually two styles in one.

Barbie mania continues at vogue.com.au with news that the Scanlan & Theodore Barbie runway presentation lands in their Paddington boutique on Tuesday, July 28. The elegant exhibit made its debut at the Barbie Forever exhibition in Melbourne but is now ready for some northern exposure.

You cannot fault Riccardo Tisci for consistency. Eleven days after staging a North African inspired menswear show, the couturier re-visited the region again in a stellar Givenchy haute couture show in Paris.

But where his men’s collection was Marrakech dude meets Parisian dandy, his couture crossroads was more Catherine de Medici visits the Atlas Mountains.

This was an air of modern day princess about most of the looks in this show, a mere 22 outfits, each of given Berber or Moorish female names.

From a wonderful opening corset-coat worn with tight pants to the final warrior princess bride, there was not one sour note in this fall 2009 collection, the latest affirmation of Tisci’s talent.

 Instead of the normal tent venue at Jardin de Tuileries in Paris, John Galliano moved his Fall 2009 couture show — which played twice-over for the first time in a number of seasons — to the upstairs salons of Dior flagship in Paris.  The models wound their way through the considerably smaller venue — which apparently got a little warm — to a soundtrack of giggling girls, allowing the audience to see the garments closer than usual.

Turns out sky blue is the new black, at least it was at Hugo Boss Orange show , staged in a funky old factory in Berlin, where every third look had a celestial hue.

That’s true even though the spring 2010 collection debuted a new twisted graphic logo in orange, for Orange, the free time clothing line for Boss’ well-heeled clientele.

Adrien Brody and Sienna Miller, stars of Boss ad campaigns, both sat front row.

What worked best for guys were white nylon micro jackets and tapered pants, silver trimmed high-tops and faded denim looks, in particular a natty dress shirt in chambray, the same on worn by Orange designer Eyan Allen as he took his bow.

She may not be 5?9 like the Victoria’s Secret Angel, but this like the model and Project Runway host, this Barbie had her outfit custom made – by Robert Best, former Project Runway 4 contestant and long time fashion designer for Mattel nonetheless.

The Los Angeles–based William Rast brand is celebrating its European expansion with parties in Paris, London and Berlin. The brainchild of musician Justin Timberlake and business partner Trace Ayala, William Rast has partnered with key retailers to showcase its garments and is hosting runway shows and parties that capture the brand’s “New America” theme.
