Estee Lauder Ultimate Red 2009 Holiday Collection

Posted by admin On November - 27 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

The Ultimate Red Color Collection is a luxurious, opulent collection. The classic navy blue, Signature Estée Lauder packaging has been transformed to a holiday gold, encasing jewel-inspired shades of lavish plums and gold flecked caramels. Lips create a high impact in deep shades of cranberry and blackberry while the skin is lightly dusted in luminous, shimmer powder.

As I shy away from red, for I can never find the “right red” lip shade for me, I was thrilled to have discovered that the Opulent Shimmer Gloss in Cranberry could have been made for me – it isthat beautiful. This one is sure to be beautiful on a multitude of skin tones as well. Another must-have is the Opulent Shimmer Powder. I have been using it daily since it arrived!

Although Coco Chanel never visited China, she developed a strong interest in Asian arts and antiques, so Lagerfeld decided to bring to life the collection she never had a chance to create.

Demi Moore Bonding With Rubinstein

Posted by admin On November - 8 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

Demi Moore is not just another pretty face in a fragrance ad.

That became clear during a brief interview at a reception organized in New York last week by Vanity Fair magazine and L’Oréal to trumpet the beauty giant’s U.S. launch this weekend of its new Helena Rubinstein women’s fragrance, Wanted, for which Moore is both the face and the inspiration.

The fragrance represents Rubinstein’s reentry into the U.S. market after beating a retreat in 2003. The fragrance will be sold exclusively in 674 Macy’s doors across the country.

Moore was signed by Rubinstein in 2004 and has become increasingly involved in its development. Describing the Wanted launch as “an effort to test the waters,” she noted Rubinstein recruited her while looking for “a way to reinvigorate the [Rubinstein name]. They never really had a face of the brand,” she said.

Italian fashion house Versace is cutting about a quarter of its global workforce and expects to post a loss this year as it takes a hit from slumping demand for luxury goods and designer items in the financial crisis.

The celebrity-favorite fashion brand, whose gowns are worn byHollywood actresses such as Angelina Jolie, is taking measures aimed at returning the group to profitability in 2011, it said in an emailed statement.

A source close to the company said Versace had a pretax loss of 400,000 euros ($593,400) last year and this would widen to 30 million this year.

Versace, which has a total workforce of 1,360, said it would cut about 350 jobs worldwide in a reorganization plan which will see it rationalize production facilities, review its store network, reduce capital investment next year and cut overheads.

All measures will be implemented by the middle of next year.

“Trading conditions in the wake of the global financial crisis have been severe and the company expects to make a loss in 2009,” Chief Executive Gian Giacomo Ferraris said in the statement.
