For those of you who find that rimming your lids with eyeliner make your eyes look tiny there is a move that’ll help.

On the bottom, not only is the line below her lashes (as opposed to inside the rim), but the line stops a little more than half-way in.

By keeping the liner a little lower, you create the illusion that your lids eyes are bigger than they really are and the stopping-half-way things keeps them from looking closed in. It’s less dramatic and smoky than going all the way around, but, hey, if you’ve been struggling with liner for awhile, it’s a good place to start.

How to Get Smokey Eyes

Posted by admin On December - 27 - 2008 ADD COMMENTS

Step 1. You must choose a good concealer. Always choose one shade lighter than your skin tone and completely cover any dark circles. Since the smokey eye is very dark, you want to be certain you have good coverage here.

Step 2. With a black eye pencil, draw a line along the upper lashes. Start thin at the inner corner of the eye gradually getting thicker as you work your way out.

Step 3. As close to the lower lash line as possible, draw a thin line. You can stop either one third of the way in or take it all of the way in to the inner corner. It all depends on how dramatic of a look you want. Play around with both and see what looks best on you.

Step 4. With black liquid eye liner, draw a line on top of the black eye pencil. This gives it staying power.

Step 5. Use a dark grey eye shadow and crease brush and apply eye shadow to the crease (only 1/3 of the way in) of your eye, using aback and forth motion. Blend well, until you see no visible lines. You can also use an eye liner brush, dip it into the grey eye shadow and run it over the liquid liner to add to the smokey look.

Applying Eye Shimmer

Posted by admin On December - 13 - 2008 ADD COMMENTS

Follow these tips and guidelines given below that will tell you the correct way to apply eye shimmer.

  • Wash your face thoroughly and tap it dry with a towel. Apply some moisturizer just in case you have dry skin. Blend it nicely around your eyes and make sure it is evenly spread.
  • Apply concealer/compact all over the face and blend it evenly around the eyes to conceal dark circles, fine lines, moles, etc. Apply make up to the rest of the face before proceeding to the eyes.
  • Apply a bit of eye shadow to define the color and match it according to your attire. If you have an eye pencil of the same color, you can line the lower lid of your eyes with it.
  • Now very carefully take a bit of the eye shimmer on a brush. Apply it gently over the eye lid in one direction, preferably from inside to outside. If you are not confident about the powder shimmer, just wet your brush a bit and squeeze out excess water with your fingertips. Now, ‘draw’ a fine line with it over the eye lid.
  • Dip the tip of the brush in the powder and gently drag it over that wet line. The powder will stick nicely to your eyes. If you feel you have taken a bit too much of eye shimmer, just blot it out carefully with a tissue.

    Applying Blush

Posted by admin On August - 12 - 2008 ADD COMMENTS

Decide the color of blush you want to apply on your cheeks. For this check the color of your cheeks by pinching your cheeks and wait for a second or you can match your lip color.

Put the blush into the brush, taping off any excess or put a dab of gel on your fingers. Apply the blusher with a brush, on the cheek, in the shape of a triangle, tapering towards the temples. Blend it outwards and upwards. No lines of demarcation should be visible. It should not have a harsh effect, but rather lend the face a warm, soft glow.

Apply blush brush on apple of your cheeks and gently brush up your cheekbone towards your hairline. Dot cream blush beginning at the apple and blend up the cheekbone towards the hairline.

For a natural look, blend it well down your cheeks.

How to Apply Blush – Tips

Tip 1: Its best to apply blush knowing the shape of the face.

    • For a long, narrow face: Apply the color lesser than the lower edge of the cheekbone and keep the angle horizontal for such a face to create the width of the face.
    • For round, square face: Apply color in the middle of the face. Don’t get close on the nose.
    • For skin look clearer: Apply blusher to the apple of your cheeks. Blend it back but don’t go further than the corner of the eye.

Tip 2: Dusky pink blush warms up any tired looking skin.

Tip 3: Wash brushes regularly with a makeup remover or non- soap cleanser.
