Victoria Beckham’s fashion brand has made its first-ever appearance in the nominations for the 2010 British Fashion Awards. Her collection has been selected as one of four nominations for the Designer Brand award, together with the more-established names of Burberry, Mulberry and Pringle.

Mrs Beckham, 36, launched her label in New York just two years ago, and her global celebrity clientele just continues to grow. Her dresses and gowns have been worn by virtually every Red Carpet-worthy star including Drew Barrymore, Madonna, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Demi Moore, Nicole Scherzinger, Blake Lively, Jennifer Lopez, Gwyneth Paltrow, Heidi Klum, Cameron Diaz, Brooke Shields, and Leighton Meester, to name a few.

Christopher Kane, Erdem, and Phoebe Philo, whose collections for Celine have led the revival of no frills-no fuss, grown-up dressing, are the three nominations for the Designer of the Year ‘fashion oscar’.

VICTORIA BECKHAM has recruited her husband David to launch a new menswear line under her successful fashion label.

“Victoria has been trying to persuade him to do it for a while and he’s finally succumbed,” a source told the Mail On Sunday. “She has reassured him that he has an eye for fashion.”

David will be in charge of designing the new range which will be launched for spring/summer 2011.

Beckham’s new post was announced at Range Rover’s 40th Anniversary party at Kensington Palace’s Orangery in London, where the British mum of three stunned the crowd in a tan asymmetrical drape-neck dress from her own collection and nude Brian Atwood for Victoria Beckhamshoes.

“Victoria Beckham is a talented British fashion designer and is extremely knowledgeable about great design and trends,” said Land Rover and Range Rover Design Director Gerry McGovern.

“Victoria understands luxury products — she is a Range Rover fan and has been a Range Rover owner for many years.”

Clad in a stylish black dress, the former Spice Girl led the way as her security staffers followed along ahead of the morning flight.

Victoria Beckham recently let her Giorgio Armani contract expire so that she could focus more on her beauty and fashion lines; she’s said to be showing her Victoria Beckham Collection — which Roland Mouret has assisted her with in the past — at New York Fashion Week again for Spring 2010, but this weekend, she’s releasing a short film featuring her Fall 2009 collection (with Mouret’s sharply tailored handiwork visible) online.
